Cyprus branch officially opened
March
Since March, STIHL has been represented by a new branch location in Cyprus’ capital, Nicosia. The location, which includes a concept store, sales areas, and a workshop, was opened during an official ceremony
STIHL Group joins UN Global Compact
March
STIHL has joined the United Nations Global Compact, committing itself to sustainable and responsible corporate governance. The Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact on human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption act as firm guidelines for the STIHL Group’s business strategy.
Supplier of the Year
June
The founding company presented the Supplier of the Year award for the 43rd time, with five suppliers being recognized. For the first time, this year also saw two titles being awarded in the special category of sustainability to suppliers who meet our high standards in terms of responsible labor and business practices, environmental protection, and transparency
Opening of the Brand World

After three and a half years of construction, the STIHL Brand World at Plant 1 in Waiblingen, Germany, officially opened its doors on July 13, 2023. The opening ceremony was attended by numerous dignitaries, including the Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg, Winfried Kretschmann, who inaugurated the new building by bucking up a tree trunk.
Inauguration of the new special mechanical engineering building

STIHL again clearly expressed its commitment to Germany as a business location by inaugurating its new special mechanical engineering building in September. STIHL invested around 15 million euros in the expansion, which was carried out using sustainable construction methods.
STIHL Brazil turns 50
October
STIHL Brazil can look back on 50 successful years. As the first STIHL company in South America, it laid the foundation for the international manufacturing network. A special celebration was held to mark the 50th anniversary.
STIHL Timbersports® World Championship in Stuttgart
November
The Timbersports® World Championship returned to Stuttgart in 2023, having previously been held there in 2013 and 2016. The event was staged over two days at the Porsche-Arena, with Danny Martin of Germany winning his first World Championship medal in front of a home crowd. The Australians were crowned world champions in the team competition for the fourth time in a row.
Cutting Edge Award

“The future is orange” was the motto adopted by 125 students in 44 teams as they presented their innovative and forward-looking ideas at the Cutting Edge Award finals in December. The three winning teams each took home 1,500 euros.
